Pedroia: A-Rod is a Dork

Dustin Pedroia was interviewed by Boston Magazine recently (hat-tip to Peter Abraham) and called A-Rod a dork.
His subject now is last year's All-Star Game, where Pedroia and teammate Kevin Youkilis made up the right side of the infield, while Rodriguez and Yankees idol Derek Jeter constituted the left. Tomorrow, perhaps leery of feeding a rivalry whose coverage in the tabloid press alone accounts for the destruction of several spotted owl habitats, Pedroia will ask that his comments about A-Rod be stricken from the record. ("That guy," he will say, pausing for a moment to find the right word, "is a dork.") But at this moment, here in the shade of the clubhouse, he is expansive.
I can't really get too angry at this, I've called A-Rod much worse myself in recent months, but it is always worse when it comes from a Red Sock.

What I'd really like to know is what he didn't want being made public.

A-Rod is really annoying me..

Pedroia comes from a family of child molesters.

I'm glad all the red sox dont like A-Rod. I'm tired of watching Jeter hugging Mike Lowell everytime he gets on third base.

Where is Graig Nettles, Munson and Lou Pinella when you need them.

I hate to admit it, but I'm not too mad at his statement. But I do think Pedroia should watch his back. A-Rod is much better than Pedroia and he's really just saying this because he's the reigning MVP.

I agree B-Boy.

Pedroia had the weakest numbers on any MLP I can remember.

Pedroia is starting to sound like Schilling. Not a good thing.

Posting in here now discuss:

this has nothing to do with this topic but i wanted to talk about it.

It seems that every analyst and writer out there seems to think that the Red Sox are a better team and will beat out the Yankees simply because they are younger.

Newsflash to these fools who again need to actually do some work, The Red Sox are not a younger team than the yankees in fact their average age is higher than the yankees.

Gardner and Ellsbury both 25
Varitek and Posada both 37
Jason bay and JD Drew are 30 and 33 for everyone who thinks they are so young.
Cano and Pedroia are both 26
Mike Lowell is 35 , arod is 33
Ortiz is 33 , Matsui is 34.
And BTW if you arent blinded by RedSox love then you know they have just as much injury questions coming from offseason as well.

Rotation wise sure Pettite is 36 but , the Red Sox have their Wakefield who is 42.
Depth wise they have their Buchholtz who is 24 which is older than Hughes at 22.
Derek Jeter at short is the only spot where they are younger than us.
Also, Rivera compared to Papalbon, but lets not forget Rivera is an ageless wonder, guy is still easily dominating batters.

So enough already with the Red Sox are so young they have such a great farm system. Please they are actually slightly older on average with 28.7 avg age compared to 28.1
If you are going to disrespect the yankees compared to the red sox due it based on performance not ages. O and BTW actually look something up you so called EXPERTS.

I agree with your post, anon.

I never really understood the belief that the Red Sox were so much younger either.

Also, you forgot to mention that Youkilis is 30 and Teixeira is 28, and Teix is a much better player on both sides of the ball in my opinion.

This one's a year old and centers around 2008, but it still makes you energized and ready for the season:

This is the thing that gets me about people. NOT ONCE did anyone here Arod calling anyone names. NOT ONCE! the guy does whatever he does in his quirky way. he may not be the smartest guy around but he has NEVER insulted anyone. He moved from SS to 3rd base in order to fit with the Yankees, knowing he was the Best Shortstop in the league. He didn't say a PEEP when Torre demoted him to 8th place in the batting order. Yet, everyone seems to have an opinion or a word for the guy. Can the guy keep his dignity? He is who he is, leave the guy alone. my goodness!!

If I wanted to hear about hobbits, I'd read some of the Lord of the Rings. Can we get some Yankee news?
