Yanks Worth More Than Any Other Team in Baseball

The Yankees are valued at nearly double the value of any other team in MLB according to annual estimates by FORBES magazine. In an article from the associated press on espnnewyork.com the article states:
The Yankees were valued at $1.6 billion, Forbes said Wednesday, up 7 percent from a $1.5 billion value last year. The magazine said the team had $441 million in net revenue in the first season at its new ballpark after paying to baseball's revenue sharing program and financing the stadium.
The article goes on to state that the Red Sox are second (as always to the Yanks), while the Mets are third.

Nice to see the Yanks finishing on top as usual. The Yankees run the team very well, along with their entire business enterprise. This is what allows them to keep putting money into acquiring the best talent either via free agency, the draft, or international signings. Baseball is a business and the Yankees are operated very well. All restrictions put on any baseball team payrolls would only be to discourage operating a fine business, as well go against the capitalist economy. This is why any future baseball salary restrictions should be linked to team revenues, because you cannot punish teams for running more efficiently.
