According to Michael Kay on his radio show, the Yankees have just claimed Sidney Ponson off waivers and he will report to AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Ponson was 4-1 with a 3.88 ERA in 9 starts for the Texas Rangers this year.
Ponson made five appearances and three starts for the Yankees in 2006 and was 0-1 with a 10.47 ERA.
Here's a link about Ponson's signing from NJ.com.

he's done pretty good this year. ERA under 4 in Texas, not bad. I hope this isn't THE big move Cashman makes to bulster the rotation.
I don't mind the move at all. I think it's more of a stopgap move.
