Jeter Voted Most Overrated By His Peers

From SI.com's FanNation:

Who is the most overrated player in baseball ?

Derek Jeter, Yankees SS.....10%
Barry Zito, Giants P.....9%
J.D. Drew, Red Sox OF.....7%
Alex Rodriguez, Yankees 3B.....7%
Kevin Youkilis, Red Sox 1B.....4%
David Wright, Mets 3B......4%
Mark Prior, Padres SP.....3%
Andruw Jones, Dodgers CF.....3%
Curt Schilling, Red Sox SP.....3%
Juan Pierre, Dodgers CF.....2%

[Based on a survey of 495 MLB players]

FAST FACTS: Players couldn't vote for a teammate.... Jeter was second, Rodriguez first, in last week's poll, "Whom would you pick to build a team around?".... Nine of the top 16 vote-getters play for the Red Sox or the Yankees including Boston's Curt Schilling (9th, 3%) and Daisuke Matsuzaka (15th, 1.6%), and New York's Johnny Damon (11th, 2.2%), Carl Pavano (14th, 1.7%) and Jason Giambi (16th, 1.5%).

I think this is the third year in a row that the players have voted Jeter as the most overrated. I wonder how many of them will finish their careers with 3000 hits.

And what is A-Rod doing on this list?

I think the fact that 9 of the top 16 vote-getters are either Yankees or Red Sox is a sign that this is based mostly on jealousy.

Youkilis is underrated, and how can they vote against David Wright. I understand why Jeter is on the list, he doesn't have the amazing numbers. But he does things outside the boxscore. Arod is the best player in baseball, he's not overrated. Zito, Jones, Schilling and Pierre are overrated on that list. J.D Drew can go either way, he's having a great year this year.
