Greg,
Im not sue about that. He tried to bunt a few friday's ago and couldnt. The next day girardi got criticized for not bunting him on sat. He basically said it wasnt an option.

Thats quite a core of catchers, those guys are all solid players and had good years.

I remember that. I blame that on Girardi. I feel that was an excuse he made for why he didn't do the obvious thing.

Damon has been a good bunter his whole career, and now suddenly he can't do it? I don't buy what Girardi said that night. Or any night for that matter.

You blame Girardi because a guy cant execute??? Semms to me your not a girardi fan.

I blame Girardi for not having him bunt the next day.

And I also think that this team should practice things like bunting, moving runners over, getting a runner in from third with less than two outs, etc. The Twins do it during batting practice; a coach will yell out a situation and the player who is in the cage has to execute the play correctly. It's one of the reason they are as good as they are. And they do this because their manager and coaches have the players do it.

Greg,
I agree with you. However, I feel if you are playing ml baseball you should have the fundamentals of the game down. Simple things like bunting /catching(remember damons errors -toronto)and fielding(cano)
I have said many times, this team has very poor fundamentals.it's not girardi's fault damon doesnt use 2 hands and makes an error.

BB,

Many major leaguers cannot bunt. Most of the guys who make it to the pros have always been starts, usually never being asked to bunt. Teams need to practice these things sometimes. If they can do it with Brett Gardner they can do it with others.

This is very different than fielding. No. errors are not Girarid's fault, but you should also remember fielding hasn't been this team's problem, the Yankees are tied for 2nd in baseball with a .987 fielding percentage.
