No Grass Left

These images come from WCBS 880's Tom Kaminski
who took them earlier today while in Chopper 880.

I really don't like looking at those pictures.

bring on the astro turf. kids love parks made of astro turf.

In the plan there was an indication of an infield grandstand. I hope they keep a portion of the original lower deck for that. but I doubt they will. they probably won't even put the new diamond in the same place that the original is.

could there be more obtuse planners than HOK and the city govt?

I just wonder if this means that the Stadium will be coming down during the season. Would be painful to be going to Yankee games, while the Stadium is in a heap across the street.

I'm just surprised they didnt keep the grass in for opening day at the new stadium. I'm sure there will be a blimp and they could have gotten some great shots of the two stadiums standing side by side. dumb decision.

There used to be a ballpark here.

This is a very sad day for the Yankees and for me.

The seats look like the paint is chipping off or it's rotting.

I looked at these pictures, and no joke, I almost started to cry.

u know, i have a feeling when i ride the 4 train to the stadium, and if i see the old ballpark torn down during the season, i will hurl on the train. no joke! i think about that all the time. to see a torn down loved one right in your face, i will vomit, and break down in front of everyone!

Now there's more dirt for the Yankees and Steiner to sell

I'm shocked and deeply saddened. This is like being at the wake of a former girlfriend who died too young.
