Yanks Trade for Gaudin

Update 10:45 p.m.: Marc Carig just posted on his Twitter page that Gaudin will be headed to the bullpen first.

Michael Kay just announced during tonight's broadcast that the Yankees have acquired Chad Gaudin from the Padres for a player to be named later. In 20 games (19 starts) for the Padres he was 4-10 with a 5.13 ERA. In 105.1 innings he's allowed 60 ER on 105 hits, walked 56 (too many) and struck out 105.

Not really sure how this helps, although he was a pretty solid reliever for the A's last year before going to the NL. He may be a better option than Mitre. Oh, and he's also gonna have to shave whatever that is growing from his chin.

He dosn't throw hard either.

He's still averaging a K an inning and he's only 26. I like it - seems like a better option than Mitre. He threw a 2-0 shutout against Texas during interleague play.

I don't mind the move at all, and if the PTBNL isn't anyone good I'll like it even more.

I would send down Clagget and keep Gaudin up. You might need the extra pitcher this boston series.

That's likely what will happen.

Who'd Cashman give up? Joba, Hughes and Montero......

does this mean no more possibly interest in Garland? or any other pitcher that could get through waivers?

This means Clagget is DFA'd.

I'm sure they will still look at all potential deals. It wouldn't make sense if they didn't.

Hopefully Brian Bannister will clear waivers for us. He would be an awesome pickup

You think he went to the barber and asked for a "Brazilian waxing" on his chin?
