It's Safe To Say That Montero Did Not Want To Be Traded

From Donnie Collins:
“Yesterday,” Montero said with a shake of his head and a smile, “I woke up and somebody was like, you’re getting traded. I was…What?”

...

I asked Montero a question and got an interesting answer. He has said in the past that he does not want to be traded, but a trade may ultimately get him where he wants to ultimately be — in the big leagues. I asked him if that made a day like yesterday bittersweet, and this is what he had to say:

“True, I can be in the big leagues. But all my dreams are with this team. Whatever they do, I’m going to have to live with it. But I want to stay here. I love the Yankees.”
You've got to love that this kid is so dedicated to this team and this organization above all else.

The irony in all of this is that one day it's very likely that Lee will be throwing the ball as a Yankee to Montero behind the plate.
