Hank and Hal - Equals?

Peter Abraham is reporting on his blog that he called Yankees spokesman, Howard Rubenstein to get a better understanding of the power structure of the Yankees.

“They share the power,” Rubenstein said. “They are equal partners for both business and baseball. I spoke to them about it today and that’s the situation.”

Rubenstein also said that George still has input. But it’s clear that Hank and Hal have taken over.

Hank and Hal sharing power? Will this work? Will these two really be able to run the greatest franchise in professional sports together? I hope so.

Hank reminds me of his father in a lot of ways, mostly negative. Hopefully, unlike his father, he will accept that he may be wrong sometimes, and maybe, just maybe, listen to those who know more about the game than he does. Hank, like his father, is impulsive, arrogant, and an egomaniac. Whereas Hal seems to be more meticulous, logical, and likes to shy away from the spotlight. I'm surprised they are brothers.

Ideally, they will figure out a way to make decisions together and things will run smoothly. If they don't, there will be many problems - problems you cannot afford when you are running the New York Yankees. The last thing the Yankees need is the two Steinbrenner boys running GMs, and managers out of town because of their constant arguing and inability to agree on anything.
