George Steinbrenner Day Petition

Brad over at Yankees GM Blog have informed me that they are sponsoring a petition to have a George M Steinbrenner day at the Stadium.
As Yankees fans we would like to show our appreciation to 'The Boss' by having a George M. Steinbrenner Day at Yankee Stadium this year. The Boss has been as integral a piece of the success of the Yankees over the past 30+ years as anyone in Yankee history and we want to show our appreciation for all he has done by having a day in his honor and by putting a plaque in Monument Park to his honor.
I think this is a very good idea, and Mr. Steinbrenner certainly deserves the honor. This also fits right in with the Yankees renaming Legends Field, George M. Steinbrenner Field.

Go here to sign the petition.

- Steve Lombardi from WasWatching.com posted a pretty funny story about George Steinbrenner dropping his draws in a meeting with team executives to receive a B-12 shot from Gene Monahan. Check it out.
