Yanks Beat Twins

Phil Hughes extending his spring training hitless innings streak to five. He threw four innings today, giving up no hits, striking out 1 and walking 2. ... Kei Igawa followed up his effective performance earlier this week with another one today, going 2 innings a not allowing a hit. He did walk three however. ... Alan Horne also pitched a scoreless inning. Jeff Marquez and Chase Wright didn't fare as well and gave up two runs each.

The Yankee offense was led by Jose Monlina and Jose Tabata, each coming through with a hit and 2 RBI. Morgan Ensberg and Robinson Cano each had one hit with 1 RBI. Chris Woodward also had two hits for the Yankees. Hideki Matsui made his spring debut and went 0-for-3.
