Yanks Rally to Beat Tribe

The Yankees improved to 8-7 on the spring with a 7-6 win over the Cleveland Indians today at Steinbrenner Field. The Yankees had trailed 6-4 going into the 9th, but rallied to score 3 and get the win. Chad Moeller started the 9th off with a bloop double, Brett Gardner followed with a walk. Then after a fly out, Kyle Anson smacked a RBI double to right setting up 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. The next batter was Nick Green and he came through with a game-winning 2-run single up the middle.

Chien-Ming Wang
got the start for the Yanks and pitched OK. In 4.1 innings of work Wang gave up 4 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks, he also struck out 7 Indians. The 7 K's in 4.1 innings is pretty darn impressive for Wang, who is not known to strike many batters out. Scott Patterson continues to be very very impressive this spring, in 1.2 IP, he didn't allow a baserunner and struck out 1, he has yet to allow a run this spring. Darrel Rasner pitched the final 3 innings and got the win. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, he also walked 2 and struck out 1.
