- Peter Abraham is reporting that Scott Strickland, Chris Britton, Heath Phillips, and Dan Giese were reassigned to the minor-league camp today.

- Johnny Damon was scratched from tonight's game because he is suffering from the flu.

- The Yankees announced today that they will officially rename Legends Field to "George M. Steinbrenner Field" during a pre-game ceremony on Thursday, prior to their 1:15 p.m. game vs. the Pittsburgh Pirates. So now every time I refer to it as "Steinbrenner Field" (as I have for weeks) I will finally be correct.
