The SWB Yanks defeated Charlotte 9-5 to complete a 6-2 road trip. The win moves the 1st Yanks record to 11-5 on the year.

PITCHING: Kei Igawa made his 4th start and picked up his 2nd win against 2 losses. Igawa gave up a solo homer to Duane Wise to give Charlotte a run in the 2nd inning. ... In the 6th he gave up another 2 run homer to Wise and left the game leading 9-3. ... 6.1 IP, 3 runs, 5 hits, 3 K's and no walks. He threw 101 pitches, 62 for strikes. 8 groundouts/7 flyouts. Igawa's ERA is now at 2.49.

Sean Henn came on to pitch the 7th, making his 2nd AAA rehab start. He got 2 quick outs and loaded the bases on 2 hits and a walk, but got his 2nd strikeout of the inning to work out of the jam. ... Scott Patterson pitched the 8th and allowed 2 runs on an infield hit and Duane Wise's 2nd homer of the game. ... Patterson pitched a scoreless 9th getting 2 strikeouts and giving up a single.

OFFENSE: SWB exploded in the 1st inning for 6 runs. Brett Gardner led off with an infield hit. Juan Miranda singled. Shelly Duncan had a 2-rbi double, Greg Porter - RBI double, Cody Ransom followed with a 2-run homer (3). Eric Duncan finished the scoring in the 1st with a solo homer (1). ... 2nd inning - Miranda walked, Jason Lane single, Porter- RBI single made the score 7-0. ... In the 4th Shelly Duncan added a solo homer (4). Eric Duncan added his 2nd homer of the game in the 7th for the Yanks 9th run.
