4/20 Minor League Report

The AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees blew a 4-0 lead and lost to Rochester (Twins) by a score of 7-4. The loss puts their league best record at 12-6.

PITCHING: Steven White started and pitched very well for the first 4 innings allowing just a 1st inning double and 2 walks. In the 5th with a 4-0 lead he gave up 2 runs on a double and 2-run homer. ... In the 6th another run scored on 2 walks and RBI single. He left the game with 1 out in the 6th with a 4-3 lead. His final line was 5.2 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, and 6 K, and his ERA for the year is now 4.15. White threw 107 pitches, 62 for strikes.

Sean Henn came in to get the final 2 outs of the 6th. ... Henn gave up a run to tie the game at 4-4 in the 7th when he made an error and gave up 2 singles. ... Henn got the 1st out in the 8th. ... Chris Britton got the final 2 outs of the 8th. ... Britton gave up his first runs of the year in the 9th when he gave up 3 runs on a double, single and 3-run homer to make the score 7-4. Britton took the loss. His record is 2-1.

OFFENSE: Former Met Phil Humber, involved in the Santana trade, made the start for Rochester. SWB broke out on top with 1 run in the 1st Brett Gardner walked and stole 2nd. Bernie Castro walked, Shelly Duncan was HBP to load the bases. Then Jason Lane hit a sac fly to score the Yanks first run. ... In the 2nd Cody Ransom singled and stole 2nd base, and later scored on Gardner's RBI single to give SWB a 2-0 lead. ... SWB's third and fourth runs came in the bottom of the 4th inning on an RBI single by Eric Duncan which scored Rasom who have previously doubled, and a sac fly by Bernie Castro to plate Duncan.

NOTES: Gene Michael was at the game. ... Manager Dave Miley was ejected in the 7th inning for arguing a force out call at 3rd base. ... Former SWB player Chris Basak doubled and scored the winning run. ... Edwar Ramirez was sent back down to SWB.
