Am I hallucinating, or did I just see Jason Giambi attempt to steal second?
hahahah, you sure did. I actually don't mind the call there. Like Joe Buck said they were trying to catch Martinez napping, and he was almost safe.
I don't mind it either I just thought I was losing my mind.
These fucking umpires. Sizemore went around on the check swing, going to 2-1 instead of 1-2 is a massive difference.
You're right, the umpires have been terrible for everyone so far this year. At least from what I've seen. That call just adds to the long list of missed calls.
Greg, you don't think that was a blown hit and run with Giambi running?
It could have been, but I don't know about a hit and run on a 0-1 count.
Another rookie pitcher man handling the Yankees. Things never change.
Yea, it really is frustrating watching this team try to hit.
Can this guy throw a strike?
1 ticket to Scranton,please.
He's clearly afraid to pitch to contact. He has no confidence in himself either. It might not be a bad idea to send him down for two starts. Maybe he will gain some confidence pitching to minor leaguers.
Rasner could be called up.
Timid is the word. He wasn't like this last season. Did he get neutered or something?
Well he had Mike Mussina in his ear all spring, that's never a good thing.
That, and Kennedy is reminding me of his pitching coach when he pitched for the Yanks.
It's interesting that you brought that up, because Gator used to attack hitters when he pitched, and last year that's what Kennedy and Hughes were doing.
EXACTLY! Guidry was attack, Eiland and Mussina are nibble, nibble, walk, walk.
I agree 100%. I really think they may be poisoning this kid.
I agree with the both of you. Guidry may not have been the greatest pitching coach, but he seemed to bring his attack the hitters attitude to these young guys.
He knew that was the reason he was able to succeed, and past on that knowledge.
I think I have a topic for a blog post tonight.
well that about sucked. 12 men left in scoring position, no relief pitching.
With each passing game, this teams looks more and more flawed.
Wow....did I really just see that!? I mean...honestly...really? I can sort of understand not throwing Joba in that situation because of the hamstring...but why not Rivera? Why not at least give the bats one more opportunity at scoring some runs before putting in Ohlendorf???
Girardi has some serious explaining to do.
He's really starting to worry me with some of these decisions he's been making.
