From Tyler Kepner:
This is terrible news for the Yankees as visits to Dr. Andrews are usually a sign that surgery may be necessary, which will obviously keep Posada on the DL for an extended period of time and maybe the whole year. The Yankees said there would be no announcement until after the game, but Posada, who has a tear in his subscapularis muscle, is expected to visit Dr. James Andrews and will most likely be placed on the disabled list.
Posada has already shared his magnetic resonance imaging results with Andrews, and Posada has said that surgery would not be necessary. But the problem has not improved as Posada hoped, again raising the specter of an operation.
The Yankees now have to hope Chad Moeller can get through waivers so that he can return to the team as a backup. There is also always the possibility of trading for or signing another catcher.

Two things:
1) Dont be surprised if the Mets pick up Moeller, Casanova hit his first bomb today but he is not a hitter at all... But I really hope we get him back.
2) Here come the stupid Piazza fans calling for a rehash... Id rather Jorge's dead arm than that dead arm.
I was disappointed to see them send Moeller down a few days ago and thought it was premature. It wouldn't surprise me to see someone pick him up. It looks like the Yankees might have to bring up Chris Stewart, Jason Brown or someone in the meantime. Too bad Cervelli got hurt in the Spring.
Hahahha, Derek the first name I thought of when I heard the news was Piazza. Now I don't want him here, but we will certainly hear his name being thrown around.
Jeff,
I wouldn't be surprised either, he did a very good job with the Yanks and had to impress somembody.
Yea, Peter Abraham mentioned Stewart.
Yes, Chris Stewart from AAA is being called up.

I heard Sal Fasano has a free walk from the Braves' minor league system if he gets a major league gig...
Return of the 'Stache???
Hahahaha
Steve Lombardi brought up the idea of calling up P.J. Pilittere from Double-A Trenton. He's hitting .317 now with the Thunder. I don't think this would be a bad idea at all.
