Tigers vs. Igawa

Igawa has never faced the Tigers

Stick around and discuss the game

Well looks like Igawa hasn't improved at all. Everything is up in the zone. This could be an ugly game.

Kenny is right, this is like batting practice.

Wow Betemit is a disaster over at third. Not only does he have no range, but he looks like he's running in quicksand when he charges balls.

Put Ensberg in the game damn it.

Everything ive ever said about Igawa and his shades is over.

This guy is F*ckin awful.

I agree, I still have no idea why he's on the roster and Alberto Gonzalez isn't.

Greg Cohen said...

Yea Derek, he just isn't a major league pitcher. And it's not his fault, the Yankees were the ones dumb enough to sign him. What's he gonna do, turn down $20 Million?

And whose bright idea was it to call up a lefty to face this Tigers lineup?

Seriously, sometimes I think the people running this team forget to check the stats.

Boomer and his 12-6 curve doesnt sound too bad right now...

I still have some beer mugs I hung up for his K's back in '98 I can dust off...

Do the beer mugs K's from the Stadium?

Those were awesome.

Yea, I know he probably can't cut it anymore, but how can it hurt to give him a shot?

Oh what do you know, Jeter hits into yet another DP to kill a rally.

Anonymous said...

what a joke Kenny Rogers shuts us down again. other anonymous I agree Jeter does kill alot of rallies, he's passed his prime and overrated- hate to say it.

I can't believe this garbage. The Tigers can't be anyone besides the Yankees this year. The Twins and Red Sox wiped the floor with them for the last 7 games, and now they look like the greatest team in the world vs. the Yanks.

albaladejo goes down...

the return of the ever-elusive Chris Britton on the Horizon....

This wouldve been perfect Patterson time if only he had a better showing in AAA.

Greg Cohen said...

Maybe this opens the door for Dave Robertson.

And now it's time for Morgan Ensberg's thoughts from the bench....

"Ahhhh yes.... Job Security."

Greg Cohen said...

Hahahahaha

He should have started tonight, in fact he should start every game until A) the recall Gonzalez, or B) A-Rod comes back.

Gotta Love Todd Jones... learned way back in Florida that he cant get a save without at least 2 runs scoring off him.

GOD DAMN IT!!!!

THEY WERE SO CLOSE, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A HUGE WIN.

FUCK !!!

of course it had to end like that. just to make me angry. It would have been better if we lost 6-2.Why didn't Cano just take for the team in the leg in the ninth? And has he ever heard of taking a strike, not swinging at two curves in the dirt to start off the at bat. -We need Posada and Arod really bad.

another thing, this Detroit team is garbage. They have a great offense at times, but everything else is not good. Their pitching sucks vs anybody else other than the Yankees and they have like 4 DH'S, sort of like us. We are exactly like Detroit, but with Joba and Mo, and our 1-2 starters are better.

Greg Cohen said...

I'm glad they showed a little fight, it's something we haven't seen from this team so far this year.

I can't imagine that anyone in the Yankees organization actually thought Igawa would do any better than he did. It wouldn't surprise me if they still gave him one more shot.

Someone needs to explain to me why Wilson Betemit is still on the team. Jason Giambi could play better defense than this guy.

Sigh. So many positives tonight completely overshadowed by a few utterly incompetent players.

Greg Cohen said...

I agree completely Jeff.

Very frustrating.
