Game 45: Yanks vs. O's

Regular Season Game 45
Yankees (20-24) vs. Orioles (23-20)
Yankee Stadium - Bronx, NY
Game Time: 7:05 p.m.
TV: YES - MLB.TV | Radio: WCBS 880 - XM Radio

Here are the lineups:

YANKEES
Johnny Damon LF
Derek Jeter SS
Bobby Abreu RF
Alex Rodriguez 3B
Hideki Matsui DH
Jason Giambi 1B
Robinson Cano 2B
Melky Cabrera CF
Jose Molina C

Mike Mussina RHP (6-3, 3.99 ERA)

ORIOLES
Brian Roberts 2B
Mevin Mora 3B
Nick Markakis RF
Aubrey Huff DH
Kevin Millar 1B
Luke Scott LF
Ramon Hernandez C
Adam Jones CF
Freddie Bynum SS

Daniel Cabrera RHP (4-1, 3.58 ERA)

Notes: Why does Girardi continue to put three lefties in a row? Does he like making it easy for the opposing manager? Just flip Cano and Melky and the problem is solved. . . . Chris Britton was sent down to make room for A-Rod on the roster.

***UPDATE 8:40 - Jeter was hit on the hand with a pitch and taken out of the game, so on the same day they get A-Rod back they could lose Jeter. Some teams have all the luck.

thank god Arods back.. even if he struggles the lineup looks much deeper with him in it. hopefully in a couple weeks Posada will be back and we can score some serious runs.

Yes, agreed on both counts.

6-0, first inning. Finding new ways to lose! Niiice...

9-0 now. Unbelievable.

This is reaching new levels of embarrassment.

Scoreless inning! The Orioles are starting to tire!

Greg Cohen said...

Too bad the Yankees started the game asleep.

Anonymous said...

Not sleeping... lulling the Orioles into a false sense of security.

Greg Cohen said...

hahahaha right, that's it.

So... Anyone think jeter is done for the season

It's a fight! Turning into a hockey game now.

Yeah Hawkins you dummy, throw at his head. The Yankees can't even get THAT right.

Greg Cohen said...

Why don't pitchers on this team realize that if you want to hit someone you throw one at the middle of his numbers?

Okay, 2 runs in 6 innings. If this thing goes 30 innings, it'll be all tied up!

Cano makes me laugh some times. Down 8 and he's hacking at the first pitch.
