"You saw what happened to Farnsie, so you know it's coming," Hawkins said. "It's another situation where somebody on our team got hit and nobody else got hit. I will be appealing, even though I haven't been suspended yet."
"You have to pitch inside or you're going to get killed in this league," Hawkins said. "When 'Jete' got hit, nobody else got hit. That's the bottom line. Jeter got hit and nobody else got hit."I'm glad Hawkins did what he did, but the next time the Yankees want to retaliate, just hit the guy in between the numbers with the hardest fastball you got. I don't think the league will be as quick to suspend the player if they bean the player in the back. What the league doesn't like is the idea of someone being hit in the head, that's why they suspended Farnsworth and that's why they're going to suspend Hawkins. Just hit the guy in the back, or even the ribs, and avoid the "head-hunting" suspension.

Interesting Hawkins never bothered to mention he threw at the guy's head and/or didn't mean to. No accountability.
If Yankee pitchers can't consistently find the strike zone, how can they be expected to hit someone between the jersey numbers?

All I'm saying is they should aim lower. They're aiming up and in, just aim in.
