A-Rod To Miss Subway Series

From Peter Abraham:
The MRI taken today on Alex Rodriguez revealed progress but not enough to start playing in rehab games. Joe Girardi just told the media that Rodriguez will not be activated this week, meaning he’s out for the Mets series.

“We can’t afford to have him come back for two days then lose him for six weeks,” Girardi said. “We want to have him fully healed.”

Girardi did say that A-Rod may be able to play in an extended spring training game at the end of this week.

Fine, give him whatever he needs... that bat is a ticking time bomb.

I agree, I'm just still pissed off that he forced his way back early the first time and ended up making things worse. Since when do teams listen to their players when it comes to injuries?

Well... no offense greg.. but its ARod. The guy is a solid athlete, even at 60% he can look like hes playing 100% by comparison.

Say what you want about his production, but the guy's drive for the game is certainly unparalleled, he wants to play all the time, he probably wishes games went 10 innings each.

Sure they couldve been a little more firm, but I can see why he's a hard person to turn down when he wants in...

No offense taken, and I agree about his drive, etc.

But when you have a guy as valuable as A-Rod you would think the team would make sure before throwing him out there. The Yankees should have made sure he was healthy, instead of just taking his word for it. That's all I'm saying.

Who needs A-rod? Given the way the Mets are playing, Girardi could bat Molina at leadoff and the Yankees would still clean their clocks!

And I'm guessing Girardi will probably try that at some point, given his lineup choices so far.
