The Yanks evened up their series with the Detroit Tigers today with a 5-2 victory behind right hander Darrell Rasner who was surprisingly good for a second straight start. In 6 innings Rasner allowed just 2 runs on 4 hits while walking 1 and striking out 1. Rasner has been very impressive since being called up and the Yankees may have found their fourth starter.
The bullpen was very good once again. Kyle Farnsworth pitched himself into and out of trouble today in the 7th. Joba Chamberlain pitched a scoreless 8th with 1 strikeout, and Mariano Rivera racked up his 10th save on the year with a scoreless 9th.

TIGERS PITCHING
The Yankees scored their first run on a 1st inning solo HR by Derek Jeter, his first of the season. They then loaded the bases a scored another run on a walk to Melky Cabrera. They would have scored more in the 1st, but Robinson Cano hit a rocket to Ramon Santiago for an inning ending double play.
They added one in the 4th on a RBI double by Wilson Betemit which drove in Cano who had previously walked. Betemit hurt himself on the play and had to be removed from the game.
The Yanks added runs 4 and 5 in the 5th. Jeter led off with a single and then Bobby Abreu drove him in with an RBI double. Jason Giambi then drove in Abreu with an RBI double of his own.

Rasner looked good today, being agressive and throwing the ball over the plate, hence the lone walk. Unlike Kennedy who tries to paint the corners and ends up getting into trouble. Now all we need is a good winning streak insted of win one and then lose one.
Rasner was very good today, but I think Kennedy's problem had to do with confidence issues. Last year he pitched with confidence and threw strikes, I think he can do it again.
