PITCHING: Jeff Marquez pitched a very good game going 7 shutout innings and allowing only 3 hits and 2 walks. He also picked up 3 strikeouts. Marquez picked up the win (6-7). In the 3rd he left runners stranded on 1st and 3rd for the biggest scoring threat. In the 5th he gave up a leadoff double but got the next 3 batters. Marquez threw 83 pitches--54 strikes. He had 12 groundouts---4 flyouts.

Billy Traber came in to pitch the 8th with a 4-0 lead. He gave up 2 runs on 3 hits, before being relieved by David Robertson with 2 outs and a runner on 2nd base. Robertson walked a man and got a strikeout to end the 8th. In the 9th Robertson gave up a single and walk and added 2 more strikeouts. Robertson's line: 1.1 IP, 0 runs, 1 hit, 3 K's--2 walks. ERA is at 2.05. He picked up his 1st save.

OFFENSE: SWB went on top with a 3-0 lead in the 5th inning. Singles by Nick Green, Greg Porter, Chris Stewart (RBI), and Justin Christian (RBI) scored the first 2 runs. A wild pitch scored Stewart. ... In the 6th Cody Ransom hit a solo homer (11) for the final SWB run.

NOTES: Shelley Duncan's first game back, he picked up a single and 3 strikeouts. ... Brett Gardner had the day off. ... Cody Ransom has homered the last 3 games.
