PITCHING: Alan Horne made his 3rd start since coming off the DL and suffered his first loss (2-1). Horne was perfect for the first 3 innings. In the 4th there was a single, error by Nick Green, and a walk. Horne got a strikeout-throw out double play to help get out of the jam. Horne gave up all 4 Toledo runs in the 5th inning. He loaded the bases on a bloop single, walk and hit batter. A walk forced in the 1st run. 2 singles drove in the other 3 runs to give Toledo a 4-2 lead at the time. Brett Gardner threw a runner out at the plate to help Horne limit the damage. Horne bounced back to pitch a clean 6th inning. Horne's line: 6.0 IP, 4 runs, 3 earned runs, 4 hits, 4 K's and 3 walks. Horne threw 96 pitches, 53 for strikes. His ERA is 3.70.
David Robertson pitched a perfect 7th inning getting 1 strikeout. He pitched a scoreless 8th inning but gave up a double and 2 walks to load the bases. He got a popup to get out of the jam. ... Scott Strickland pitched a perfect 9th inning.
OFFENSE: The Yanks jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 2nd. Cody Ransom singled, stole 2nd base and scored on Nick Green's RBI single. ... 4th inning----Nick Green blasted a solo homer (6) to give SWB a 2-0 lead. ... 5th inning----Shelley Duncan blasted a solo homer (7) to bring SWB back to within 4-3. It was Duncan's 1st hit after going 0 for 8 since returning to SWB.

Pat Venditte (the switch-pitcher): 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K (0.00 ERA) - I did not see the game, but I heard he faced a switch-hitter and the two couldn't decide which way to hit/pitch. It supposedly went on for several minutes before they both decided to hit/pitch from the right side. Venditte eventually struck out the batter. The batter then got angry and yelled at the ump.
