6/29 Minor League Report

================

We are lucky enough to have a SWB report from BigGuy tonight. He won't be doing these all the time by when he does I will post them. Thanks BG for the great contributions.

(AAA) Scranton (48-37) lost to Buffalo 7-5: Box Score - Recap

PITCHING: Alan Horne got the start and had to leave the game in the first inning with an apparent arm injury. Horne had no control in this game. He has struggled with command of his fastball since coming off the DL a couple weeks ago. He walked the bases loaded and 2 runs scored on a 2-RBI single giving Buffalo a quick 2-0 lead. The trainer and coaches took him out after that.

Steven White replaced Horne and got the final out of the 1st inning. White gave up 1 run in the 3rd inning on a solo homer. White pitched into the 5th inning and left with a 5-3 lead after giving up a walk. ... Billy Traber relieved White and promptly gave up 4 runs to blow the lead. Traber pitched a scoreless 6th inning and took the loss (2-1). ... Scott Strickland pitched perfect 7th & 8th innings getting 4 strikeouts.

OFFENSE: SWB picked up 2 runs in the 2nd inning to tie the score. Jason Lane doubled. Cody Ransom followed with a 2-run homer (13). ... In the 5th, SWB scored 3 runs. Chris Basak doubled, Brett Gardner walked. Basak and Gardner stole 3rd and 2nd, respectively. Basak scored on a throwing error. Bernie Castro followed with a 2-run homer (1). The Yanks had a brief 5-3 lead at that point. The only other scoring threat came in the 8th inning when Shelley Duncan led off the inning with a double but was stranded.

NOTES: There was a 51 minute rain delay in the 4th inning. ...Steven Jackson was sent back to AA Trenton. ... SWB has had 106 roster moves so far this season, 40 in June.
