(AAA) Scranton/WB (37-23) lost to Norfolk 4-0: Box Score - Recap

In that Pawtucket series 5 SWB batters were hit by pitches. Coke threw 3 innings allowing 3 runs on 8 hits. He had 4 strikeouts and 1 walk. Coke took the loss.
Heath Phillips pitched a scoreless 4th inning. Phillips gave up 1 run in the 5th inning on back-to-back doubles making the score 4-0 Norfolk. Phillips started the 6th and was relieved after getting 2 outs. ... David Robertson got the final out of the 6th and pitched a perfect 7th inning getting 2 strikeouts. ... Scott Strickland pitched a perfect 8th inning. ... J.B. Cox pitched a scoreless 9th inning. The leadoff batter reached on an error by 2nd baseman Nick Green. Cox got the next 3 men out on a deep fly to center, foul pop, and groundout to 2nd. ... Cox has yet to give up a run at SWB in 10.1 innings. He's given up 4 hits with 4 strikeouts and 2 walks.
OFFENSE: The Yanks suffered their 6th shutout of the year. They only picked up 3 hits in this game. Alberto Gonzalez, Nick Green, and Justin Christian all singled. Christian's was a bunt. ... SWB had a great opportunity to score in the 1st inning when they loaded the bases with no outs, but a doubleplay helped kill the threat.
NOTES: Peter Abraham report that "the Yankees have cut a deal with Jason Lane to extend his time with Triple-A Scranton. He had an opt-out a few days ago but decided to stick around rather than become a free agent."
