We are lucky enough to have a SWB report from BigGuy tonight. He won't be doing these all the time by when he does I will post them. Thanks BG for the great contributions.
(AAA) Scranton/WB (39-25) vs. Syracuse was suspended in the 9th with the score tie at 2: Box Score - Recap
The game will be picked up in the 9th inning prior to the regularly scheduled game Monday.
PITCHING: Alan Horne came back from the DL and made his 1st AAA start in about 2 months. Horne went 4 innings giving up 1 run on 3 hits, 7 K's, 2 walks and 1 hit batter. His command wasn't as sharp as it should be in a couple starts. He fell behind hitters and had a lot of full counts. Horne had runners in scoring position every inning but got key strikeouts when he needed them. In the 1st inning, a walk and rbi double to the first 2 men he faced in the game gave Syracuse a 1-0 lead. He left the game trailing 1-0. His era is at 3.00. He threw 82 pitches, 44 strikes--38 balls.
David Robertson came on to relieve Horne in the 5th and was outstanding. Robertson threw 3 scoreless innings (5th thru 7th) allowing just 1 bad hop hit. Robertson had 4 strikeouts and didin't allow a walk. ... Scott Patterson came on in the 8th with SWB in front 2-1 and immediately blew the lead on a single and RBI double to tie the score at 2-2. The tarp was put on after the 8th inning and the game later suspended after a delay.
OFFENSE: SWB tied the score at 1-1 in the 5th inning. Bernie Castro singled, Brett Gardner doubled and Alberto Gonzalez got the RBI on a sac fly. ... In the 6th inning, Cody Ransom doubled, Matt Carson singled, and Nick Green got the RBI on a sac fly to give SWB a 2-1 lead after 6 innings.
NOTES: Brett Gardner stole 2 more bases (24 & 25). Gardner leads the league with 25 steals in 33 attemps.
