Duncan Down, Gonzalez Up

Peter Abraham is reporting that the Yankees have optioned Shelley Duncan back to AAA Scranton and he's been replaced by infielder Alberto Gonzalez.

Duncan wasn't getting any playing time and he'll be better off getting some ABs with Scranton. I really would have liked to see Brett Gardner get called up instead of Gonzalez, but the Yankees apparently don't want to call him up unless he's going to play everyday, which barring an injury just isn't going to happen.

Ok, Ill buy that excuse... for now. But if Austin Jackson gets promoted to AAA and Brett isnt on his way up here im going to get very upset...

On the upside, Melky is at least hitting again, so this isnt an immediate crisis. But when JoPo is officially solid and Moeller goes down, they should think about Brett for some outfield and basepaths help, Betemit and Gonzo have the infield set..
