Matsui has a sore knee I heard
Oh, well if that's the case then I understand the move.
good news: its not matsuis surgically repaired knee.
bad news: its not matsuis surgically repaired knee.
Matsui Update from Pete Abe:
Matsui "is getting his knee drained today by team Dr. Stuart Hershon. There’s a chance he will be getting an MRI, too."
Can this team go a few days, maybe even weeks without some bad injury news, or is that too much to ask?
Also they're saying the game will start around 8:20 PM.
BTW, was at the game last night, Khalil Greene was getting some great Jeff-Spi-co-li Clap Clap Clap-clap-clap chants up in the tier.... great stuff.
hahahahaha nice
by Yankee or Padre fans? cause when I was in San Diego 3 weeks ago, some people were calling him Spicoli. They're fans compared to our fans is like night and day. It seems like they dont care as much, calm, laid back, no angry drunk fans. In other words: Boring.
How about Melky aka Pedro Rosa wit the superman dive...
(cue Greg and the immaturity and he better be careful or hell get hurt comment, ;) jk Greg..)
It was both Yankee and Padre fans enjoying the chant. But yeah their fans are much like San Dieg-Ahns in general, id be laid back, calm n boring if I got to walk around in gorgeous weather with the hottest gene pool of women all around me too... haha.
LOL nah Derek, I have no problem with the slide, plus it was funny.
I'm just happy it wasn't into first base.
This team looks like it's actually starting to get its shit together, now to get the entire healthy staff would be good.
Yea they sure do, let's hope they stay this way.
As for getting the staff healthy, if that happens this year, it won't be until September, but the more I read about Wang's injury the less confident I feel that we'll see him again this year.
This clown on the fox business report needs to beat it. Worse? He looks like a stereotypical Red Sox fan.
Yea, it's very annoying.
The chick is hot, though.
Yea she's smokin'.
She's no Jill Nicolini.. and CERTAINLY no Christina Stoffo... but yeah, she can get it. haha.
i know i was thinking the same tging, i hate that guy... I think Joba has the chance to fill the void as the number 1 starter. So if the bullpen and Mussina can stay strong I think we can still win it all this year,( with Wang coming back just in time). We havent had a good year from Giambi in years, if he continues to hit the way he is it will make us an absolute offensive juggernaut for the rest of the year.
Joba definitely has Ace stuff. It may be too much to ask him to be the ace now, but it's certainly possible.
Do you guys think Girardi is dumb enough to use Farnsworth in the 8th?
well itll be easier with a two run lead, thanks bobbo..
look at this offense just gettin insurance runs as easy as pie. keep it goin fellas.
God I hope not. Even with a 2 or 3 run lead I don't want to see Farnsworth anywhere near the mound.
I agree with you anon, I don't want to see Farnsworth in this game unless the Yanks are up by 4 or more runs.
ill let him come in with a 3 run lead. just enough pressure to perform, not enough to cough up too many dingies. 4 run lead just echoes wagner-style collapse, i hate the 4 run lead for guys like farnsworth.
isnt chris britton on this team? can we let him pitch?
Britton is on the DL... I still wouldn't bring in the Farns.
VERAS !!! VERAS !!! VERAS !!!
Exactly bring in Veras, I don't not feel safe with Farnsworthless in any game.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I can't say I'm surprised... Farnsworth has a mental issue with the 8th, it has nothing to do with the situation, it's the inning, he can't handle it.
FUCKING FARNSWORTHLESS!!!! We need to get rid of this asshole for a bag of bats
Farnsworth batting average against (before tonight):
7th inning - .241
8th inning - .321
He just can't handle this inning.
phew. thank god for this lineup.
What I really want to know is if Girardi was going to bring him in if the score was still 5-4. You have to assume he was going to, and that scares me a lot.
Oh he definately was, he hadnt pitched in 4 days, and he ran out of excuses why NOT to use him in that spot without saying its not his anymore, so you know he was going to... Youre right. Frightening. But as Michael Kay always says, you cant determine those same pitches would be thrown or the approach would be the same, but I have a feeling he woulda hung that one for the youngster no matter what.
Oh and can Freddy Sez give it a rest? I had to kill the surround sound cause the ting of that pan is making me convulse.
Freddy does it every game for the last 3 innings or so. It does get very annoying. The same beat over and over form the fans.
Anyone else DVRing the 1998 special? I gaurantee Ill well up at some point.
I am.
I've been looking forward to this Yankeeography for a couple weeks.
Nice little excuse me DP. haha. Almost too perfect for this game. Enjoy the yankeeography gents, fun chat tonight.
Man, I was 15 in 1998, In my third year of Senior League ball, first year of Legion ball. Number 21 on my back, naturally. And I got to watch everygame of the greatest season in my lifetime, this should be good.
I wish i was older during the glory days of the late 90's. I was only 8 in 1998. I remember watching the series tho.
Nothing can, or will ever top the '98 season. And the pain from '97 made it that much better.
That was such a great team, so many great memories. I've never seen a team that was NEVER out of a game, the score didn't even matter.
I was at game 1 of that World Series, one of the loudest crowds I've ever heard in that 7th inning. It was loud after Knobby's HR, and it freakin' exploded when Tino launched that slam.
Goodnight everybody, thanks for the comments.
