Once he takes the protective boot off he then has to rebuild arm strength, and that can take a month, maybe even longer. The earliest we can hope he returns is the end of August or early September. But who knows, we may not see Wang on the mound again until pitchers and catchers report for spring training in 2009.RHP Chien-Ming Wang was examined today at New York Presbyterian Hospital Columbia Medical Center by Yankees Team Physician, Dr. Stuart Hershon and Dr. Justin Greisberg, Foot and Ankle Specialist.
Imaging studies revealed a mid-foot sprain of the Lisfranc ligament of the right foot and a partial tear of the peroneal longus tendon of the right foot.
Wang will be on crutches and wear a protective boot for a minimum of six weeks.
Brian Cashman did say that “there is a window” for Wang to pitch again this season but that it would not be until September.
“Based on what we knew yesterday, we were bracing ourselves for something bad and it’s bad,” he said. “He’s not going to be able to do anything for six weeks.”
He also said that trading for C.C. Sabathia is not likely to happen:
“There is no trade market at the moment,” he said. “I’m not optimistic that something can get done on that front. We have to try and plug this gap internally and that’s not going to be easy.”Cashman also told Mike and the Mad Dog that the Yankees will keep Daniel McCutchen in AAA and that Dan Giese will start Saturday against the Reds.

That sucks - Almost as bad as my pre-onsale password not working this morning. Was anyone else freaking out as bad as me?
Yep, same thing happened to me. Very annoying. By the time I got it working everything was sold out.
DAMN YOU TICKETMASTER!!!
Tough loss for your boys. Especially as things were going pretty well and the team seemed to have been hitting their stride. It'll be VERY interesting to see what Management does.
damn that sucks. luckily for me i reserved an office in my building, brought 4 laptops with me(I work in IT) and with all four going at the same time i got through after the first 15 minutes of hell. 500 bucks face value for 4 bleacher seats feels like i got gang raped, but if i get a ball in the HRD it will all be worth it. I've been going to the stadium since 1980 and so far i have only touched one with the tip of my finger.
