Yanks Still Looking for a Lefty Reliever

Dan Graziano of The Star-Ledger reported this morning that the Yankees are still very interested in trading for a left-handed reliever. The names he mentioned were Colorado's Brian Fuentes, Baltimore's George Sherrill, Pittsburgh's Damaso Marte and John Grabow, and Kansas City's Ron Mahay.

You have to believe that each of these teams will be asking for the moon from the Yanks, all teams do, so it may be difficult for the Yankees to make a deal. And with how successful the Yankees pen has been, do they really need a lefty? It would certainly make the bullpen better, but it's not a necessity.

Yes, Cashman should help improve the team if he can, but he shouldn't get ripped off in the process.

I dont understand why we didnt just sign Mahay in the offseason, and now we want to trade for him?

I wanted them to sign him in the offseason. I think Cashman really dropped the ball in that area of the team (lefty reliever). There were several guys there for the taking and the Yankees just sat back and did nothing.
