From George A. King III:
Though Joe Girardi won't divulge the identity of Saturday's starter, there were strong indications today that it will be Pavano, ...First, according to Trenton (Double-A) pitching coach Scott Aldred, Pavano looked strong in a bullpen session today.
"He was perfect," Aldred told the Trenton Times. "It was the best I have seen him."
Two, Phil Hughes isn't believed to be ready for big-league action yet after five minor-league rehab starts.
"If anything we are excited," Jason Giambi said of Pavano.
"We need a win and he is a guy who can help. I hope we get the real Carl Pavano."
"Everyone knows we need wins," Johnny Damon said. "Hopefully the guy can provide them. Every game is important. Everyone is just looking to win games; if it means Pavano, hopefully he can win."I'm glad that stiff neck turned out to be nothing, but I still can't believe the Yankees are relying on Carl Pavano in any way. Oh well, desperate times call for desperate measures. Good luck Carl.

awwwwww shitty!
just think of it like this - did you ever expect to get anything out of ponson? could be lightning in a bottle.
True, you never know what can happen in this game.
"I hope we get the real Carl Pavano."
Be careful what you wish for, dear Big G.
I guess that means he leaves in the second with a sore elbow.

I'm thrilled that we might have a chance to witness the greatest miracle of the 21th Century. Glassman Pavano returns to the mound and shatters in the same second.
Ok I am going to the game that Carl Pavano is starting! Woo Hoo! lol. I've been bickering about this for days now, and with my luck, he will go out and throw 7 strong innings. lol
I hope so Anon, the last game he pitched was very good. The game against the Twins last April. I'll take that kind of start. Although that was almost 500 days ago.
GO PAVANO!
