From The Daily News:
Alex Rodriguez was frustrated. After the Yankees were shut out, 1-0, by the Angels at the Stadium Friday night, the slugger said his team should be better than that.
"Regardless of who is pitching or how well they are pitching, we are better than no runs," Rodriguez said. "It is very frustrating."
Rodriguez had his chances to end the drought. With the Yankees down by a run starting the home ninth, the slugger worked the count against Angels closer Francisco Rodriguez to 3-2, but just looked stunned as the righthander sneaked an 83 mph changeup by him and he was called out on strikes.
"Good pitch, then first changeup he's ever thrown me," A-Rod said. "In maybe 30, 40 times I have faced him, including spring training, he's never thrown me a changeup."
A-Rod also had a chance with first and second with one out in the first and struck out. Then in the fourth Abreu led off with a single, A-Rod had another chance, but this time he popped out.
Next A-Rod, when you're one of the main reasons the Yankees didn't score, maybe it would be wise to shut up. You know what's very frustrating Alex? Watching you try to hit in a big spot.

Maybe Choke-Rod can get a big hit for this team before opening his mouth. Did he use up all his clutch hitting last regular season, it sure looked like it last October when he did nothing.
well the first 5 pitches were balls, and you swung at 2 of them, which put you in a 3-2 count. If you were more patient you would have walked, Arod.
I cant stand k-rod by the way.
I don't blame A-rod. It's really not his responsibility to have to be the only one to step it up. There's 8 other guys in this lineup. Alex has had some big hits over the past few weeks, including some helpful HRs. Yes, he had a bad game, but where is everyone else?
Personally, I think Giambi is killing this team batting 5th. Nobody wants to give Alex anything to hit, because Jason is an atomatic out coming up next. Aside from an "accident" check swing bloop to LF, he hasn't hit or driven in runs AT ALL and continues to bat 5th. It's killing us.
Melky Cabrera should be benched as soon as possible. Damon or Nady can play CF. Yes, you're going to lose something on defense, but not so much that it can't be made up for with offense by opening up the DH/1B slot to more flexibility. A lot of Melky's spectacular catches come on mis-reads and/or bad jumps.
And seriously, what the hell was that change-up by K-rod? The flipping ass@#$% has to break that crap out against the Yankees???? He had given up runs in his previous two outings, and suddenly now decides to break out an INCREDIBLE change up that he spotted at will 3 or 4 times in the 9th inning. He spots a nasty one on the outside corner on a 3-2 pitch to Alex, the lead off hitter in a 1 run game? @#$% him.
