Yankees - Angels Series Preview

Yankees - Angels
Angel Stadium of Anaheim
(3 games)

After stumbling out of the gate on this 10 game road trip by losing the first two games to the Rangers, the Yankees rebounded by taking the final two, and now head to Anaheim to take on the Angles for the second time in a week. This time for three games.

The Yanks are currently 63-52, 5.5 games behind the first place Rays, and 3 games behind the Red Sox in the Wild Card. They're 13-7 since the All Star break, but only 5-7 since their 8 game winning streak.

The Angels are 71-43, and 12 games ahead of the second place Rangers in the AL West. Since the break they're 14-5, with two of those losses coming at the hands of the Yankees last weekend in the Bronx.

I never like it when the Yanks have to play the Angels, but I like it even less when the pitching matchups look like they do for this series. Things could get ugly. But then again, it's baseball so you never know.

Couldnt think of a Yankee killer for the Texas series, tho that really proved to be Marlon Byrd in no time....

For this series you nailed it with Figgins, so Ill pick my Yankee killer as Garret Anderson.

Although Torii Hunter has really gone nuts since the death of his grandmother two weeks ago(we didnt see him much cause of the funeral), Anderson continues to crack gap shot doubles right when we really dont need him to.

Anderson also makes me hate that Bernie Williams isnt still playing baseball, since he keeps jutting out there and putting up numbers despite everyone saying hes finished year after year.

Anderson was my second choice, I just took Figgins cause his batting average against the Yankees is slightly better than Anderson's.

Oh no no no Greg,

I dont do that to second guess you, youre absolutely right, Figgins is the big thorn in our side on this team.

I just like to point out the person I predict will hurt us more mentally than statistically in the series... hence why I always choose Millar when we go to B-More. Haha.

I wasn't suggesting you were. It's cool.
