It looks like they are going to put up protective screens between the dugouts and the foul poles. Do you have any info on that? I can't believe the fans will go for that!

I have not heard about that, and if it's true, it's a joke. Not only would it look stupid, but you're right, the fans will hate it.

As if the restaurant in centerfield is bad enough, blocking views from both sides in the bleachers, now a screen? WTF?

I don't know if it's actually the case or not. Part of me doesn't want to jump to conclusions, but then again, what else could those polls be for?

I checked out the 3D seat images on the yankees website and there are not signs of poles or netting.

Maybe it has something to do with putting the sod in for the field.

That's what I'm hoping they are for.

Someone at Baseball-fever (http://www.baseball-fever.com/showthread.php?s=ab751fafec2a08cec699888d8b49ea79&t=51384&page=339) said they could be netting for batting practice.

Interesting. But what would they do? Keep the polls up without the nets during the game? Wouldn't that obstruct people's view?

If you check out the link, it shows photos of the grounds crew removing the poles at the current, now old, yankee stadium. So, if that's what they are, i'd imagine they'd take them down before the game. If that's the case, i don't know why they'd have the poles up at this early date.

I see what you're saying anonymous. I really have no idea why they're up, and what they're for. I wonder if there is anyone I could email to find out about them. Anyone have any ideas?

i have no idea, but it does look nice otherwise

i was looking around the seat selector, and in section 104 R15+, all the way in the rear, you can't see a lot of CF. Same with section 135 R15+, if you look, there are seats farther back in the section that would seem to have a bad line of sight. It seems like this stadium has some major problems with the sight line which they claim are "improved". I just feel bad for the people getting those seats (not me!!!).

This stadium is going to be great.Hopefully we will put an exciting team out there. Maybe we can get some guys that can bunt and catch.

When I was touring the new Yankee Stadium I asked that exact question. I was told those poles are up for protection of fans and will stay up during games. I know they do this in the current Yankee Stadium, but the poles come down for the game, they are only up for batting practice. Now I'm sure this decision can change before the season starts, but that's what I was told in September when I was there.

CW if what they told you is true than I feel sorry for fans at the new place. What a joke that is. I hope the people who told you that were wrong.
