Girardi Wants Bernie at Spring Training

No, not to play centerfield, but to work with the players as a special instructor.

"We always bring back great Yankees and Bernie is a great Yankee," Girardi said. "I'd love to have Bernie around whenever we can have him."

"I wish Bernie would've come around a lot more and I hope he does come around more. I'm really looking forward to seeing him Sunday."

Sounds good to me. I can't see how this could hurt. Get as many of the '96-'01 Yankees around as possible. Tino, Pauly, Bernie, Cone, all of them. Maybe they will be able to teach some of these guys what being a Yankee, and winner is all about. It's a shame they all can't still play.
