Why am i confused about this move?

I'm a little confused by this as well. I guess they are grooming him to be a reliever now.

They probably feel that his arm won't hold up as a starter.

I love this move. I had a feeling they were going to turn him into a reliever. Hopefully, he shows a lot of promise. If we could have Melancon and Sanchez replace Ramirez and Veras in the bullpen, I will breathe a sigh of relief. Ramirez and Veras give me near heart attacks when they come in to pitch.

I dont have a problem with him coming up its just i would figure he'd stay with AAA for the playoffs.

All I know is our bullpen should be set next year. As long are Darell Rasner and Sir Sidney are off the team i'll be a satisfied customer.
