Wow! Sounds like they will give the Stadium a rousing send-off. I wonder how one goes about getting tickets (that's if they offer some for sale, of course).
Perhaps at the end of this ceremony they can light up the lights at the new stadium, sort of a passing of the torch as it were (as I mentioned in another post here in the blog).

It's looking great, but it doesn't look like there's gonna be too much room to paint the interlocking NY behind home plate.
youre right, maybe it just wont be as big.
i just heard a good song that made me think of yankee stadium.... time to say goodbye by sarah brightman/ london symphony orchestra
can't wait, and they'll just make the NY smaller
Yep, that's a very fitting song.
I'm sure the NY will be there.
The place looks beautiful and so much more like the "original" Ynakee Stadium than the current one.
Do any of you guys know anything about that November 9 "official closing" of the current stadium? Any links on the subject? Thanks!
Mike
No I have not heard much about the closing ceremonies. The only thing I've heard is that Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney are supposed to perform.

I'm not in love with the upper deck. One of the defining features of the old stadium is the large, steep upper deck.
I agree anonymous, that's always been one of my biggest problems with the new stadium.
Oh by the way, I will be posting another photo update tomorrow morning around 11:00 a.m.
