every time there are new images, the stadium lokks better and better.
I feel the same way.
The pictures are great! I think it looks great. Can't wait to see it opening day(on tv). I won't be there, but I still can't wait for opening day!
I won't be there either but I got HD so i can watch it at home for free.
Boy oh boy! Nice indeedy!

What is the building that runs around back of the scoreboard supposed to be? Concessions? I think they should have a kid zone with a lot of arcades and such. In the renderings, the building behind the scoreboard did not seem to be much of anything but they are constructing something behind there. The stadium looks great as well.
It sure looks purdy. But it just doesn't look as...I don't know...vast as the real Yankee Stadium. Even with the fences pulled in, the current stadium just feels so big and cavernous.
I guess we'll have to see what it's like in person.
It looks great, but I have a few tiny issues. First, it looks as if there won't be enough room between the circle around the plate and the backstop to paint a good-sized interlocking NY logo. Also, I dont like the foul dimensions and the shape of the field outside of fair territory, it just looks quirky. Other than that, and of course the awful, fake looking frieze the Stadium looks incredible.
is that Budweiser logo/sign one of the HD video boards or a sign?
The Budweiser sign is a video board. They were testing the video screens, and there was a video of it posted on youtube.
I actually like the frieze, although the old one sure had a nicer aged look.... Of course, the city took care of that one a long time ago.

Look closely at the frieze, its too generic. it has no design whatsover. Very bland. I wouldnt be shocked to see it replaced in the coming years with a more authentic looking one.
The frieze is the same design that the outside of the stadium is.
Arches with a little square window above it.
If you consider the frieze "generic" then I guess the outside of the stadium is too. because it's the same design.
Which also means the original YS is "generic" too because if you look at a 1923 picture of the original YS compared to the 2009 version, It looks exactly the same.
Except for the upper deck facade on the outside that they didn't do.
I agree with Sean about the frieze. It does have the detail of the original. However, I love the rest of the place and think it will be great.
Give a few years from the rain and sun and snow and sleet that will lash out against the freize, it will look like the old stadium's was before it got torn down. Either way I can't wait for it to open and they start giving us tv tours on YES on opening day! I saw it this year and I think it looked huge from the outside when I rode by it on the bus.
I think it looks great!!
