In the AFL the Peoria Javelinas beat the Peoria Saguaros 18-11: Box Score - Recap - Game Story

Austin Jackson went 3-for-6 with 2 RBI and a run scored.

Kevin Russo went 1-for-2 with 2 RBI and a walk.

Jeff Marquez pitched 1.2 innings in relief, he allowed a run (unearned) on no hits, walked 4 and struck out 1.

In HWB the Waikiki BeachBoys beat the West Oahu CaneFires 8-5: Box Score - Recap

Andrew Brackman started for the BeachBoys and picked up his second win of the Winter. He went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs (1 earned) on 5 hits, walked 1 and struck out 4.

Austin Romine had one AB and got hit by a pitch on his wrist and had to leave the game.


Austin Jackson and Phil Hughes have been added to the Rising Stars Showcase National Division team roster. Both rosters can be found here. The game is basically the AFL All-Star Game, and will be this Friday at 7:15pm local time (10:15 p.m. EST). Hughes will start the game against the Braves’ Tommy Hanson.

I had forgot to mention that the Yankees have players playing in the Venezuelan, Mexican and Dominican winter leagues. Here's a run down of the players in each league:

Venezuelan League:

Edwar Gonzalez, Francisco Cervelli are playing for Cardenales de Lara.
Reegie Corona and Victor Zambrano are on Navegantes del Magallanes.
Edgar Soto is on Aguilas de Zulia.

Dominican League:

Bernie Castro, Matt Carson and Wilkins Arias are playing for Aguilas Cibaenas.
Jhonny Nunez and Oneli Perez are playing for Tigres del Licey.

Mexican League:

Justin Christian is playing for Caneros de los Mochis.
Walter Ibarra is on Naranjeros de Hermosillo.
