Giambi Nominated For Goulet Award

From Mark Feinsand:

Jason Giambi won’t be in the mix for any postseason awards, but the Big G is one of the finalists for this year’s Goulet Award.

Not familiar with that honor? It’s named for the great Robert Goulet, and it goes to the “most impactful mustached American” from the past year.

The 16 finalists were selected by the American Mustache Institute from a pool of more than 60 nominees. You can vote for Giambi (or anybody else, for that matter) at the AMI web site.

Other finalists include former Yankee "Goose" Gossage, former Met Keith Hernandez, TV's Pat O'Brien, and Family Guy's Cleveland Brown.

The winner will be announced at ‘Stache Bash 2008, which is a benefit for Challenger Baseball, a baseball league for children and adults with disabilities. 'Stache Bash 2008 will be held on October 25 in St. Louis.

Bye-bye, Jason. We gave you more than one chance to become part of the team, but you never really lived up to it. Move on and good luck!

Not much love for the Big G, huh?

Can't say I blame you, though.
