This is very good news. I've been noticing that many Yankees fans feared that Cashman wasn't going to make a run at CC. And I can understand where the fears come from, especially from fans still angry about Johan Santana not wearing pinstripes. But now it appears that the Yankees will do everything they can to sign CC.Superstar free agent CC Sabathia's contention on Sunday that "I'll play anywhere'' would seem to bode well for the Yankees, who are expected to be the most lucrative possible destination. When asked about it, Sabathia also mentioned that he liked New York and considered the new Yankee Stadium a plus.
The Yankees are going all in for Sabathia, according to people familiar with their thinking, so if he means what he says, he can expect an attractive offer. Sabathia said he believes his great time in Milwaukee proved to him that he'd enjoy playing in most, if not all, places.
He's become "more open-minded,'' said a person close to Sabathia, meaning he'll consider places outside his native California. Which would also seem to suggest he's more willing to consider the Yankees.
Heyman also said he sees the Dodgers, Mets, and Giants and Angels as other possible suitors.

very good news. and in my opinion there is no way in hell the yankees will let sabathia sign with the mets. if he's coming to ny, hes coming to the yankees. the only thing i fear is that he likes the nl so much that he'll sign with a team in california. i'm very confident we'll get him though, especially after this latest report.
I hope your right dan. This time the yanks should not drop out like they did with Santana.
i forgot to ask, what do you think the yankees would have to give up for roy oswalt, and this next one is questionable, erik bedard. i still believe erik bedard can be a great pitcher, and we may be able to get him relatively cheap. he just had surgey so it would be a risk. just acouple of options instead of having another sidney ponson, darrell rasner combo as our 4-5 starters.
I also say bedard is a good pitcher, but if I was the GM, I would stay away from him. After a few years from surgey then i'll think about it.
Roy Oswalt is a great pitcher, I like him.
Dan,
Oswalt would probably cost a lot. I believe he's signed through 2011, and he's getting paid around $15 mil per year.
Bedard might be a possibility, although I've heard he's a bit of a flake in the clubhouse, and may not like the spotlight of a big city. The reason I said he could be a possibility is because I think the Mariners are sick of him - yes after just one season. I also believe that Bedard can be a very very good pitcher, if his head is in it, and that's a big if.
oswalt wont waive his trade to play for NY.... and I'm glad we kept Hughes/Wang...
Good point anon, I forgot about his NTC.
