Congrats Joe!

... and Donnie, Larry Bowa, and Scott Proctor.

You think Hank's a little pissed off right now?

Greg,
I happy for Joe, but I still feel we would be in the same position we are in now if he were our coach. We had too many injuries and inconsistent hitting to make the playoffs this yr.

JESUS CHRIST! that's the first thing i have to look at when i get up? sheeeeit! you know, i'm not a Torre fan but i don't hate the guy. i think he was the man for the mission up until around 2004, but after that i was ready to see him move on. the way things went this year, this doesn't surprise me at all, but i wont be impressed unless the dodgers beat the beantown bimbos in the world series. GO PHILLY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if he would have gotten the Yanks to the playoff either, maybe he would have, maybe he wouldn't. I'm just happy for him.

Marc,

That should be one damn good NLCS. Both teams look great right now.

I hope he stuffs that WS ring (once he gets it) right in Stienbrenner's freakin' face.

I'm sort of hoping the Dodgers do well. This story is making me wonder if Torre grew disillusioned with the Yankess organization when they did not really get too many good players via trades or the free agent market the last few years. Just a thought, that's all. I wonder if he was fed up with what he considered questionable player moves (or non-moves)? As I said elsewhere, I have a hunch we have still not yet heard the full story of what happened between Joe and the Yankee organization last year.

Gee, perhaps a manger is only as good as the players on the field? Could it be?

Very interesting Mike, I think there's a good chance you're right about Torre's feelings towards the Yankees and certain moves they made or didn't make.
