The Yankees are content to let CC Sabathia take his time on his big decision, and Sabathia will do just that. As first reported by ESPN's Peter Gammons, Sabathia doesn't intend to decide on his next team until after the Thanksgiving weekend.

this from Dan Graziano, who said the San Francisco Giants are going to get into the mix for Sabathia. He said that Giants have been in touch with CC's agent and are planning to make an offer shortly. The offer will be more than the Brewers' six-year, $100 MM deal, but not higher than the Yankees $140 for six.
The Giants "want to show him they're going to be very aggressive," according to this person. They're hoping last week's signing of lefty setup reliever Jeremy Affeldt (two years, $8 million) shows Sabathia they're interested in building a winner, and they've told him they're planning to go hard after free-agent shortstop Rafael Furcal as part of their off-season plan as well. The Giants believe Sabathia would rather pitch in San Francisco than in New York, and they're hoping they can make an offer that's close enough to the Yankees' offer to convince him to go there.
I think it's going to take a lot more than Jeremy Affeldt and Rafael Furcal to make the Giants a "winner."

So, the Giants want to collect all the $150 million pitchers?
If CC really cares at all about winning, he should want nothing to do with SF. They have one of the worst offenses in the game, so he better get used to a lot of 1-0 or 2-1 losses.
The Yankees are the only team that's going to guarantee to consistantly do everything they can to put a winner on the field every year over the next 5-7 years. Going to a place like SF or Milwaukee is not going to cut it, unless you're looking for a quiet place to settle down, rather than a place to win.
Oh, I just wanted to add that the Giants team payroll on opening day was $76M. That was 17th in MLB. I find it somewhat hard to believe that they'll toss close to $25M per year at CC, bringing their payroll over $100M. They've already been burned by the mega-money pitching deal they gave to Zito, I just question whether they'll take such a huge risk yet again.
Wouldn't it be infinitely smarter for a team like them to pursue other FAs like Garland, Lowe, Burnett, as well as focus on their main problem - their severe lack of offense?
(And just an FYI, Peter Abraham posted Hughes' line from his last start, and I commented with the info in the last winter league post. Here's the stats: 5 innings, 2 hits (both singles), 0 ER, 0 BB, 10 Ks, 76 pitches, 54/22 strike/ball. Struck out 4 of the last 5 batters faced, all swinging.)
