Pujols Wins NL MVP
It was announced today that St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols is the 2008 NL MVP. This is the second time he has won the award. Pujols hit .357/.462/.653 with 37 HR, 116 RBI, 44 doubles, and 100 runs scored in 148 games for the Cards. He also played a gold-glove calibur first base.

Congrats to Albert.
Shuts up my brother in law who thinks that Manny should have won. Despite what Manny did for the Dodgers in the second half, Pujols was phenominal all year. In fact, I can't think of any season that Pujols has not been great.
wasnt pujols the guy who said "I see it this way: Someone who doesn't take his team to the playoffs doesn't deserve to win the MVP."
i am not saying he did not deserve it cause he definitely had an unbelievable year...i just find it funny that he has no problem with it now...

Pujols can't say "I don't deserve this, we didn't make the playoffs." It's unfair and really disrespectful of the award and MLB itself.
Whether or not he feels that he deserves the award, he has a responsiblity to graciously accept the award, and be appreciative that he got it.
All players are the same...when someone else wins they come out with reasons why they themselves should, and when they win they come out with a reason why it was right...
that being said he did have an amazing year, and feel he was the right choice...
