CARIBBEAN LEAGUES:
- Robinson Cano playing for Estrelles in the Dominican and is off to a very good start. This week in 5 games he went 7-20 with 5 doubles, 5 RBI. Totals -- 7 Gms. .310 (9-29), 7 rbi, 8 runs, 5 doubles, 2 K--4 walks OBP. .412.
- Melky Cabrera is playing for Aguilas in the Dominican. This week Melky played in only 3 games, going 4-13, 2 RBI. Totals -- 9 Gms. .343 (12-35), 5 rbi, 6 runs, 2 doubles, 1 stolen base, OBP .378. 4 K---2 walks.
- Ian Kennedy is playing for Mayaguez in Puerto Rico, made his 4th start of the year Tuesday in impressive fashion. Kennedy threw 7 shutout innings allowing only 3 singles. Two of the singles came in the 1st inning, but he worked out of trouble. The 3rd hit came in the 2nd inning, but was wiped out by a doubleplay. Kennedy then retired the final 16 batters he faced. He did not allow a walk and had 4 strikeouts. Kennedy picked up his 1st win (1-1), and lowered his ERA to 2.29. Totals -- 4 Gms. 19.2 IP, 5 ER (1 HR), 11 hits, BAA .169, 18 K's--9 walks.
- Jonathan Albaladejo, also playing for Mayaguez in Puerto Rico had a very good week. Albaladejo made 3 relief appearances, picking up 3 saves, including Kennedy's game, covering 3.1 innings for the week. He allowed only 1 hit, and has yet to allow a run in his 7 appearances. Totals -- 7 Gms, 5 saves, 7.2 IP, 0 runs, 4 hits, 4 K--1 walk. BAA. .154
- Justin Christian playing for Mochlis in Mexico had a good week, going 8-25 in 6 games, with 2 doubles and 3 RBI. Totals -- 34 Gms, .291 (41-141), 17 rbi, 22 runs, 3 HR, 7 doubles, 10 stolen bases, OBP .351.
- Francisco Cervelli is playing for Lara in Venezuela has seen limited action. This week he played in only 1 game going 1-4, single, walk. Totals -- 16 Gms, .257 (9-35), 8 runs, 1 RBI, 1 double, OBP .381, 8 K---7 walks.
- Reegie Corona playing for Maganelles in Venezuela in very limited action this week, appeared in only 1 game this week, pinch hitting he went 0-1. Totals -- 25 GMs. .273 (15-54). 9 RBI, 10 runs, 5 doubles, OBP .316.
- Ramiro Pena playing for Culican in Mexico, played in 2 games this week and pinch hit in a 3rd, going 2-8. Totals -- 15 GMs, .255 (13-51), 6 RBI, 4 runs, 2 doubles.
- Walter Ibarra playing for Hermosillo in Mexico, continues to struggle at the plate. This week in 5 games he went 2-14. Totals -- 28 Gms. .212 (14-66), 2 RBI 13 K--6 walks.
