It appears that the Yankees like him. I wouldn't be surprised if he's the first starting pitcher signed.“I faced Ben Sheets when I was with the Cubs and I’ve admired the work that he’s done over the years. It was good to talk to him about his health, his routines and what he likes to do. He’s a very open young man and he was impressive,” Girardi said.
“His numbers stack up against anyone’s. He’s healthy now, we believe. He’s had some injuries, but injuries are what have kept him out of that class. When he’s on the mound, he’s dynamite.”

Girardi Impressed With Sheets
The Yankees met with Ben Sheets today and Joe Girardi came away very impressed:

Oh god, stay away then, just stay away!
Hahaha why?
Just imagine both AJ and Sheets land on the 60-day DL on the first day of spring training.
Come on Gregg, you know why.. Do we really have to address the elephant in the room? Is this really Girardi's contribution to wooing free agents?
@ Raven, exactly!!!
Raven that's the exact reason they should not sign the both of them. I'd rather them give two years to Sheets instead of four or five for Burnett.
And Danny, are you talking about his injury history? If not I still have no idea what you're talking about.
I'm fine with one year, anything else and you just might as well give Pettitte what he wants.
