Melky For Cameron Talks Off

From Kat O'Brien:
It sounds as though the Yankees will not be getting Mike Cameron to play centerfield next year. That could change, of course, but I just got off the phone with Brewers GM Doug Melvin. He said: "Nothing new. At this point, I don't anticipate it's something that we would (do). ... I haven't talked to Brian (Cashman) since last week."
Good, this is not a trade the Yankees needed to make.

I wonder if Cashman is secretly talking to Baldelli right now?

That wouldn't surprise me at all. Yesterday there was a report that he was misdiagnosed and that whatever he has in curable and he should be 100% healthy soon.

Greg, when Cashman resumed their talks with Melvin, I wonder if the Yanks dropped out then was because they thought Baldelli can't be cured. As we know before the winter meetings, the Yanks had expressed interest but nothing came up since then.

I wonder if his winter ball numbers affected this. I want Delmon.

Thank god Yanks came to their senses about Mike Cameron. I hope Yanks sign Baldelli he will cost alot less and Baldelli/Gardner platoon would be much better than mike camreon.

I'm cool with the deal falling through. However, Melky still needs to go. Package him and Kennedy and see what you can get.
