Yanks Interested in Dunn and Baldelli

Ken Rosenthal just posted a new article on Fox Sports with some interesting info regarding our New York Yankees. Here's what he had to say:
The market for free-agent outfielder Adam Dunn is starting to take shape.

The Braves, Mariners and Nationals are among the teams interested in Dunn, major-league sources say, and his list of suitors could grow quickly.

Dunn, 29, also represents a fallback position for the Dodgers if they lose Manny Ramirez and the Angels if they lose Mark Teixeira.

The Yankees, too, could emerge as an option if they strike out on the top free-agent starting pitchers.
Dunn hit .236/.386/.513 with 40 HR and 100 RBI for the Reds and Diamondbacks in '08.

Offensively I like Dunn a lot he's very, very productive. Even with his low batting average, he still gets on base, drives in runs, hits the ball out of the yard, and sees a ton of pitches. Defensively he's garbage in the outfield and at first base. Do I want him on the Yankees? Not really, I'd much rather the Yankees stick with what they have in the outfield and sign Teixeira to play first.

Also according to Rosenthal the Yankees are also showing some interest in former Rays outfielder Rocco Baldelli:
Add the Yankees to the list of teams interested in free-agent outfielder Rocco Baldelli. The Rays, Red Sox and Phillies also are pursuing Baldelli, who came back from a rare neuromuscular disease with the Rays last season. Baldelli, 26, could serve the Yankees as a right-handed hitting alternative to Hideki Matsui in the DH spot, and also play outfield against certain left-handed pitchers ...
If they can get him cheap I'd take him, but I don't think the Yankees should give a guys with a "rare neuromuscular disease" too much money. Baldelli hit .263/.344/.475 with 4 HR and 13 RBI for the Rays in '08.

I'd really like the Baldelli idea.
After all, isn't it true that the yanks have lacked a consistently good/clutch bench since the dynasty?

Yes, that is true.

Yeah I'm all for getting Rocco Baldelli. He will really improve the bench. I know he cant play everyday because of his disease, but we can platoon him ocassionaly with Gardner.

Baldelli is a good clubhouse guy too I much rather have CF be Gardner/Baldelli than Gardner/Melky.

i like baldelli, but he will get hurt every year.

id rather sign manny than dunn.

i dont see why the yankees cant work out a trade for ichiro for cf. why not give them matsui/damon and melky and a prospect. theyre prob going to lose ibanez and ichiro isnt loved by his teammates, plus they suck. what would it take for ichiro?
