How about some non-Torre's book news?
From Jon Heyman:
The Yankees are in serious talks with Andy Pettitte, and there is a lot of optimism a deal will get done, SI.com has learned. The last time Heyman said the Yankees were in serious discussions with someone was a few hours before they signed Mark Teixeira.
Both sides are working hard to push through a one-year contract. Indications are that Pettitte will receive less guaranteed money than the $10 million the Yankees originally had on the table for two months before he turned it down.

Good. I am very happy with this. I warmed to the idea of Sheets because when healthy, him AJ CC and Wang are all #1 starters, but the chances of them all being healthy aren't very good. We really don't need another top of the rotation starter, we need a #4 who could give us a 200 innings and push Joba to the 5th spot so we could skip him from time to time.
Also, this makes Hughes and Kennedy earn themselves back to the show. For Pettitte, he must feel stupid for not taking the $10 million. Many players have made bad choices when it comes to contracts this offseason. Varitek, Wolf, Pettitte to say a few.

Knock on wood, but that looks like the best rotation we've had in years.
This would be their best rotation since 2003, and that was a World Series team.
If they can stay healthy this team will be fine.
As far as Pettitte's contract, I think his agents screwed it up with their crazy demands. At least that's what it looks like if he's about to sign for $6.
YankeePride3, I pretty much agree with everything you said, especially on Hughes and Kennedy. Both were rushed along, and I think if Hughes opened as the #5 starter it would be the same thing. Bottom line is that he hasn't thrown alot of innings the last two years. He needs to stay healthy and put his work in. Remember when he first came up in '07 that his change was still developing. Last year he almost never threw it. Plus his velocity was down. He needs to earn his way back, that is what is best for his development. Because once developed, I have no doubt that the kid is going to be a great pitcher.
Not only that, but someone's going to get hurt, so he'll definitely get some innings with the big league club. Pitching depth is never a bad thing. Now if we could only get a shortstop with some range...
Wow getting Pettitte for 6million is a great deal.
well well well, look who came back
Hey Andy...Whatever became of that 3/34 deal that was on the table from "Team X"?
Well, I'm not too crazy about it, but that's just me. I don't like the games he played and also think he's washed up. As I did with Cashman, however, I will sing out loud here in the forum if he proves me wrong!

Like Greg said, this might be the best rotation since 2003.

And maybe Joba could have a breakout year and win 14+ games.
Well it's official now, 5.5 guaranteed with incentives that max it out at 12 mil. Good job Andy, swallow your pride and try and help us win another ring.
